Harley Bell arrived earth-side, early (30 wks + 5 days) as you all know, and since than we have been working slowly but surely on her nursery so we could share it with all of you. It has been such a joy decorating her dreamy nursery and creating a warm and loving room that Harley will always remember as her own. Welcome home MY GIRL!
I am so bad at making decisions and the decisions were endless when it came to the style and route I wanted to take with Harley’s nursery. I typically tend to go for a more feminine, "girly" style and I was leaning towards putting up the stunning Sweet Laurel Mural. The Celeste Mural was my other favourite and it hadn't been released quite yet. I decided to get out of my comfort zone and choose the Celeste Mural to give the room a bohemian abstract vibe over a more classic pink nursery.
SHOUT-OUT to Richele & her husband Davie who installed the wallpaper for me while we were still in the hospital. When I came home it was up in the nursery already and I was so surprised! It brought the biggest smile to my face.
I LOVE the colours of the Celeste Mural. It's abstract neutral tones are dreamy to say the least. My current colour obsessions have been blush, rusts and mustard tones which match perfectly alongside The Celeste - thank goodness. Hopefully Harley likes those colours too as she gets bigger! The mural genuinely brings tranquility to the space (much needed after our baby girl's 7 week hospital stay!) and I could not be happier with my choice.
The nursery was primarily designed around the mural but also the lamp I found at Anthropologie. They are my two favourite pieces in the room. The lamp has a ceramic base with the sweetest print and I love the red tassel on it. I also adore decorating with Pampas grass and anything and everything woven and wooden! But the most practical decision choice I made for this room was the glider. I did a ton of research all about the best rockers and nursing chairs and let me tell you . . . I made the right choice. It is essentially the same as sitting on a cloud and has incredible back support for nursing. I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for an amazing chair. I'll be spending a ton of time here and every penny was worth it.
This room has quickly become my favourite room in the house. It symbolizes the amazing, difficult but wonderful start of our little family. Every time I step into her room I just feel thankful that she's here - happy and healthy! She truly is our miracle.
