Map of Charleston

This colorful, vintage South Carolina map was first drawn and published by C. Drie in 1872. Following the American Revolution, the town of Charles Towne changed it’s name to Charleston. Charleston played a major role in the American Civil War, as it was the location of the first shots fired. The ships shown on the map represent the first shots fired at the entrance of the Charleston Harbor.
